Best known for her role as Dionne in the 1995 hit comedy Clueless, as well as many other movies and TV roles, actress Stacey Dash is a Christian, a Speaker on a mission – to help others transform.
Stacey Dash didn’t have the ideal American childhood. Growing up in the South Bronx, her friends were the hustlers, hookers, and gang members who struggled in the face of futility, who sold drugs instead of living on food stamps, who settled matters with fists, knives, and guns because it seemed their only option, who stood tall against broken dreams.
Dash’s rough upbringing shaped the rest of her life—her relationships, her politics, even her faith. She has seen how conservative and liberal policies play out in the real world, and her experiences have made her who she is today.
That’s why she is passionate about telling her story and empowering others.
No stranger to struggle, Stacey found herself, like many celebrities in the clutches of addiction. In addition to her struggles with substance abuse she was cast out of Hollywood for being outspoken about her conservative christian views.
Stacey now spreads a message of hope and wants to empower people to recover from substance abuse and addiction.
Her signature speech, From Victim to Victory, shows how transformation and starting over is a possibility for all.
In my life, I’ve made many mistakes. A daughter of addicts, I grew up in the South Bronx – the furthest imaginable place from the glamor of Hollywood. Here it was easier to be mad than sad. My anger might have kept me alive, but I remained angry for over 45 years. I have come to realize that being angry is not sustainable. It is not the way forward.
I am here to share my story and what I’ve learned in the face of great loss, adversity and being a public outcast. I now know how to deal with my demons and mistakes. I have a greater understanding of what it takes to come through the darkness, and that is with courage, humility and surrender, which has brought me to a place of love and grace.
